This thesis endeavours to approximate an answer to the question of what professional exactness and diligence might mean in today’s graphic design, by examining the criticality and value expression of undergraduate graphic design higher education through a case study of UAL, with a focus on its constituent college, LCC, and through a contextualising analysis of the criticality and value expression of the graphic design industry.
This is an exploratory analysis which tries to at least partly uncover how criteria for professional adequacy and quality are viewed and expressed in contemporary graphic design at the highest professional/educational levels.
